Okay, well I can tell you that updating the blog may be a challenge given the "internet" they have here, but we will try.  First an update from yesterday's sight-seeing activities.  First thing I learned - a "pencil boat" taxi ride is apparently the equivalent of the Splash Mountain ride at Disneyworld!  Thankfully, it was warm enough that I dried out quickly :)  Above is what the boat looks like.

I then went to the Royal Palace which was an expansive sprawling grounds.  The architecture and ornamentation were amazing.  I will attempt to post some pictures from there.

Here is the changing of the guard at the Palace

Thinking of getting a few of these for my front porch:

Not sure we'll follow this architecture in our building in Cambodia

So then fast forward to the arrival in Cambodia last night.  Let describe the traffic pattern - chaos. There are apparently 2 lanes - one in each direction.  These 2 lanes quickly become 4 to 6 lanes as the motorcycles, tour buses, tuk-tuks pretty much drive anywhere - in any lane - even if it's in the wrong direction.  I am not sure how to say "oh shit" in Cambodian language but pretty sure I will learn :)

We got to the hotel and the began the real challenge of trying to explain to them that 2 people "sharing" a room does NOT mean sharing a bed - after an hour of explanation they finally got the room situation squared away.  We also learned that a "roll away bed" does not constitute a "bed" when Patti (who is quite fit and thin) sat on the so called bed and it collapsed! Therefore it is not an option either! So, 2 of the team ended up sleeping on beds in the Spa area of hotel.

Several of us met in the hotel bar to get to know one another while we waited on the others to arrive.  Peter is still waiting on his luggage to arrive. Poor guy had the shortest distance to travel - came from Sidney - and we think his luggage went to London! Hopefully it will arrive today.

That's all for now. More to follow.
